Walking on the clouds

Dec 2011 added a new record for me. Has strong focus on morning walks, and ensure that the continuity is maintained through the month. Overall walked 150+ kms (147 outside and 5+ on treadmill).


The weekend walks were all 10+ kms (going through DRDO and Gitanjali layout park). What an end to Year 2011.

Pranav comes home

Kishore came home with Sangeetha & Pranav for lunch. Had some good time. Lunch was home cooked by Meera ( Rice, Sambar, Aviyal, Cabbage upperi).

Drive to captains!

Probably the last drive to Captains place in Chennai! It was good fun. Couple of late night talks, good food, drinks. Captain had designed our toom tarrif card (snap attached) - ha ha quite a thoughtful effort ;)
The trip was for registration of house in Chennai. Met Pramila Ammayi & Nivya also. Drive within Chennai was hard with some really heavy rain during the day.

Softnest gettogether - The Paul

This time the get together was at 'The Paul' - one of the most expensive get togethers in softnest history. It was a great choice given 5 kid members and the venue would have been critical for parents and kids to have a great time (which everyone eventually had).

Trip to Tuticorin

Travelled to Tuticorin for Diwali and to bring back Sid and Meera (they had gone to Tuticorin as i was travelling to US).

Revolution 20-20

Finished another book (the latest by Chetan Bhagat). This talks about how education defines people life and what true success means for individual. Another masala story, but becomes bit dull after reading his inital couple of books.
Have picked up 'One night at call center' for next reading.

Toys R Us

Took a yellow cab and went to Toys R Us and bought some stuff for Sid. Most of the items are available in India - so picked some books which i found to be good.

Five point someone

Finished reading FPS. Bought this book on way to Seattle from B'lore airport. This book has been inspired Indian movie '3 idiots'. Though the book and movie have same concept, the story for movie has been modified.
Very good read and finished it in 2-3 days time. Long time since i had read any book completely - next already picked.

Amazon Grill - Brazilian food

Went to Amazon Grill - which is a Brazilian restaurant for dinner with Mohan/Charles/Sid/Jerry. Tried 'Rodizio' which is basically a buffet concept with lots of Non-veg being served hot on the table.
Tried it with wine and the combination was pretty good. Nice restaurant, but lots of red meat.

Palomino - italian restaurant

Took Naveen/Alex/Cory/Charles for lunch at Palomino. Tried 'Dover Sole' - fish variety. Good food.

Farestart

Went to Farestart restaurante for lunch with Alex/Cory/Charles.

The concept at the restaurant is to get people from village and train them as chef so that they can build their lives. This is helped by some big chef who come and give them training.
Food was pretty good (tried Salmon).

US Travel

Flew to US for 2 weeks (Oct 12 - 23) for some sudden requirement at client side. Had to take Lufthansa flight - and route myself via Blr - Frankfurt -> Washington DC -> Seattle. It was a 30 hr long journey - one of the longest journeys i have made in past few years.

Got Mee and Sid to go to Tuticorin for the period.

Oct 6

Been 4 years since we met. As usual i forgot the date and ocassion with loads of office shit happening:(. Did not realize until Mee reminded about it. Just continue to realize how insensitive i have become.

New Samsung Galaxy S2

Bought new Samsung Galaxy S2. It was not without any incident. The first day (Oct 1) I bought the phone, there was some defect - the 'Flight Mode' would not turn off at all (meaning, the phone could not be used to either make or receive a call).

Went back to Croma Store and got it replaced (though they initially said they will send it to service station to check the defect).



















Now i have a new peice, which is working perfectly good:)

Golu @ 314

This year Mee finally decided that enough was enough - she wanted Golu to be done at any cost. Well she got her way through and we had a lovely Golu kept in our home:)
Also got Toor Dal Alankara done on Sep 29 on Sids name at Ganesha temple @ SMR.

Zindagi na milegi dobara

Timepass movie. No strong story line, but just feel good kind of movie which one can sit and watch for couple hours. Story of 3 friends who regroup for their bachelors party and how they get their fears out.

Ramanagara - Team outing

Team outing - Ramanagara.
Did Rappeling, Channel crossing, and Chimney climing. The last was the most adventurous, was panting by time reached up.

Today was last day in F4. We are moving to MTA. Good memories working at this place.

Dakum Dakum

Bought 'Dakum Dakum' from Chenapatna - on way back from Kannur after Onam. Sid enjoying its ride:)

Onam @ Kannur

One week off to Kannur from Sep 03 to Sep 10, 2011.

The drive was good with Pramod, Bhabhi and Prince also joining us. Sid certainly captivating everyones thought with his amazing plays.

Fun was 'Pookolam' for Onam. We all debated through the night on what design we want to put, and in the morning it was the design which was part of floor that got approval (rejecting all others). Snap attached - it certainly looked good.

Finally the cycling happened!

Cycling with Pawan and DK. Route - From home to Indiranagar Flyover - Pawan joined from there. Then to Oasis (spar) where DK joined. From there 4 kms round turn before stopping at one of the Darshinis for Breakfast. Overall covered 26+ kms (first cycling event).

Started around 5:45AM and was back by 8AM back to home.

Sid turns 1

Pretty silent birthday for Sid (at Kerala).

Morning went to temple (Challa). Lunch at home, with payasam.

Fuel price rockets

Another hike in fuel prices and petrol pricess touch INR 65.68. Bangalore right not has the highest petrol rate and it certianly is not helping. People eagerly await metro or some other solution which would help the situation.

Car pooling with Ranjith is helping both financially on petrol expenses and personally on health side.

Mommies birthday bash

Cake from cake world. Dad went and bought couple of sarees as gift for mommies:)

Sid's first casuality

Sid got an eye injury.

Got checked with 3 different doctors. The first two told it is due to allergy and the third said it was due to 'trauma' and not an allergy.

It became worse when after the second consultation we starte anti allergant eye drops. After afternooon and evening drops - evening drops caused big trouble. Within 5 mins of putting the drops he had a bloodspot in his white part of eye:( It was heartbreaking to see the most beautiful and expressive eyes having such bad bloodspot.

Started antibiotic after consulting third doctor. Hoping things will be fine soon.
